Leila is Sick

We picked Leila up from the orphanage as soon as we landed, and I think we were all equally happy to see one another. She looked beautiful with a new hairdo that someone at the orphanage did especially for her journey. I was thankful that this gave me a little more time to prepare for caring for her hair well! We noticed she didn't eat well at dinner, which we had with our friends Rodrigo and Juanita at the LOC. We tried to get started with a nightly routine of showering, teeth brushing (3 times!), flossing, reading and prayers. She seemed content and fell asleep quickly in the twin bed pushed up to my own. I slept poorly with the time change and the events of the day, and she awoke several times to use the bathroom. She was very quiet this morning and felt hot. After several trips to the bathroom and being unable to keep any food down, we took a trip to a local clinic where they took some blood. We will collect urine and such as well to see what might be going on.

Please pray for her healing and for protection from sickness for the rest of us. We will return to the clinic after lunch for blood results. She is such a strong and sweet girl.
