A Fun-Filled Weekend

We started with an evening at Hunter and Emily's home as they brought home baby Karis Olivia that day from the hospital. Mary-Michael loved being able to hold a real live baby doll.

Geoff was supposed to play softball on Saturday, but because of the rain Friday night the tournament was postponed until Sunday. So, last minute we decided to go to Busch Gardens. We'd been contemplating season passes for us (the kids are free) since we don't have a family vacation planned until the fall, and I am so glad we went for it. Mary-Michael loved every moment and wanted to ride everything, even the roller coaster in the Sesame Street area. She surprised us a ton when she got on stage to dance with her Sesame Street friends, too. We are looking forward to more visit there this summer for sure!

And Sunday, the kids and I went to church, watched one of Daddy's games and spent most of the rest of the day at my dad's. It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed a lot of time outside. We finished the evening back at church for an hour-plus of worship and praise. It was really nice to have just a moment to myself - me and Jesus. I need those every now and then to get filled back up and shift my prespective off of the small challenges and on to the really big blessings we have. If only I could wake up with that sense of gratitude every morning... but then I guess I wouldn't need faith and dependence on someone bigger and greater than me...every...single...moment.
