Niger, Here We Come!

Today I received my yellow fever and typhoid vaccines. The last ones needed before we embark on our 10-day adventure to Niger. We leave in just 11 days! I did not procrastinate on the shots, but because they are live vaccines, I (sadly) cannot breastfeed for a period of time after receiving them. So, I pumped the last good milk I could in the parking lot of the pharmacy 5 minutes before my appointment, and tonight I will count how many bags of milk I have been working hard to produce (literally, working hard - by eating a lot of ice cream!). I have been emotional about not breastfeeding for 3 weeks and am praying that after all my pumping and dumping for the next 3 weeks, my little man will still want to nurse.

For all of my prayer warrior friends and family, we wanted to ask you to please start praying if you haven't already. We know so many of you have, and we are grateful. We will also be "prayed out" in the 11am service on Sunday (9/9). Please pray specifically for:
  • the grandparents who will be caring for Frazier and Mary-Michael while we're gone (they already do so much; they are A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!)
  • Frazier and Mary-Michael who may not miss us for a minute because grandparents are way cooler, but still need to eat, sleep and behave well while we are away
  • our safety as we travel so far away
  • us to really disconnect from life here, so that we can really hear God there and serve Him in awesome, unimaginable ways
  • MIRACLES to happen
  • Lives to be changed (including ours)
I hope I will be able to post updates while we're there, so stay tuned and thank you for praying big, bold prayers for us and the people of Niger.
