Your First 10 Days

Dear Mary-Michael,

Already you have filled our lives with so much joy, surprises and love we didn't know we were capable of feeling. You are a beautiful baby and are nursing well and sleeping pretty well already at night. We are still getting used to only having a few hours at a time and are thankful you are too young to remember us falling asleep while feeding you or stumbling to the changing area.

You love to kick and squirm. You don't mind having your diaper changed or getting a sponge bath as long as we keep the warm wash cloth on you. You have shown us your angry face when you get chilly or don't get food in the timeframe you want it. This impatience comes from your daddy...and maybe a little bit from momma, too.

Daddy changes almost all of your diapers (his choice), and that is his special time with you since momma feeds you. Your grandma is here for your second week of life and making sure that momma is resting (if not, I get in trouble). We had our frist outing on Sunday to Dan and Kelly's where we grilled out and watched a little basketball (your daddy is very grateful that his 2 weeks off from work fall during March Madness). Today we had our first trip to the store (Target, of course) with Grandma and Nonnie. You were very good and slept most of the time.

We love you so much and like other parents said would happen are amazed at how much we want to do anything in our power to take care of you and give you a good life. We are blessed to have so much love and support from many friends and family. We will leave you with pictures of some of those visitors from the past week.
