Pennsylvania Plan B

When COVID changed our original plans to travel to Niagara Falls in an RV with the Kell Family, we came up with a new plan. Thanks to some very hospitable friends, we stayed in their lovely river house in the middle of nowhere (McVeytown, PA) on the Juniata River. We had a glorious, unplugged time as the home is in a dead zone for cell phones and they’ve chosen to not add internet. We enjoyed a 1 day outing during our 1 week stay to Amish country where we tasted and saw a bit of Amish life, as well as enjoyed an incredible production on the Book or Esther at The Sight & Sound Theater. This is Mary-Michael’s favorite story in the Bible, so it was so fun for her to see it come to life. Actually, we all thoroughly enjoyed it!

When we weren’t playing Phase 10 or Dutch Blitz, we were fishing, floating, reading or sitting around the campfire. And in between all of that we were definitely eating - lots of eating and cooking occurred. I think it ended up being a better choice for the husbands who each own a business and especially needed that downtime. It was a blessing to have an alternative!

“For such a time as this!”

Several miles down the river we floated. So relaxing.

Story time!

Game time!

A whole lot of fishing but not a lot of catching.

Cutie pie.

Worship, prayer and conversation around the campfire.
