What a special celebration we had this past Sunday! Our 100th and 101st mission teams to Niger, Africa were prayed out during Sunday services. Geoff is thrilled to be going back after a 2 year hiatus on the 101st team. Five members of The LINK staff in Niger travelled to Virginia for the occasion and our dear friends, Rodrigo and Juanita, came up from El Salvador. The African attire and congo line during worship brought a little bit of Niger to MCC. The entire congregation enjoyed lunch together. Incredible! I love that the heart of our church is missions and telling the whole world about Jesus by being His hands and feet through serving.
God has done amazing things in Niger with over 700 projects focused on water, nutrition, medical care, etc. completed and over 1000 travelers having their eyes opened wide to a beautiful country with great needs. Seven children have been adopted through these mission teams, and they were all together for the first time on US soil! It was so special, and God is very good to give us such a wonderful extended family through these friends that also have a special place in their hearts for Niger.
Halima, Michel, Pascal, Paul and Edouard coming to America! For 4 of them it was their very first time.
All of the adoptive families together for the first time.
The six older children who have endured so much leaving the only home they ever knew to join brand new families in a brand new place.
Leila was thrilled that we were all decked out in our African clothes. So fun!
