Two big things happened today:
1. Geoff left for his 5th trip to Niger where he will be helping to repair some of the damage done to churches and pastor homes during the protests over the Charlie Hebedo cartoons (happened during MLK Jr. Weekend).
2. We submitted what I hope to be our final packet of evidence to US Immigration for Leila. The last 3 weeks of pulling this together have been hard, and I have been cranky. I am human and thankful for God's grace, but I have had to ask for forgiveness multiple times for my crankiness and complaining spirit. Yuck. They weren't joking when they called an adoption a paperwork pregnancy. It is absurd.
So, now we need you to PRAY! We are hoping for a miracle and praying that Geoff would be able to take Leila to get her medical exam with the US Embassy while he's in Niger. Our congressman's office has been in touch with the US Consulate there about this, and in a roundabout way, she said yes, this was possible. This would prevent us from having to take another trip over there to do this (one of the parents has to take her), and it would get us that much closer to getting her home. Geoff is armed with a 100+ page packet of every piece of evidence, application, court approval, etc. that we have. Leila now has a Nigerien passport as of this past Friday, so she is ready to travel minus the visa. Progress!
Only God up to this point. Only God for the rest. Thank you for praying!
