If you believe in the power of prayer and the Scripture from Matthew that says, "Ask and it will be given to you...", would you please join us in prayer?
Without sharing too many details on a public blog (though let's be honest, besides our parents, I'm pretty sure there aren't thousands of you awaiting my next post), Leila and all the children in her orphanage need great prayer - for daily sustenance, the door to adoption to be swung wide open and a Godly, loving man or woman to come in and lead the orphanage in a positive, Godly way. From the current leadership, there must be a willingness for accountability and for a veil to be lifted to see that these are beautiful children created with a purpose.
Please also pray specifically for a very important and potentially transformative meeting the first weekend of October in the Ivory Coast. Our Missions Director from church, the LINK Director and a few others with a passion for Niger will meet with some leaders there about Leila's orphanage. It is and incredibly important meeting for her and for the other 70+ children.
These are children - just like yours and mine. They are just in Africa and living in circumstances that most of us can't fathom. They didn't choose Africa just as we didn't choose America. These are babies, toddlers learning to walk, preschoolers learning to talk, children growing up each day. They are longing for a hug - not just one every once in a while when the mission teams come, but one every single day or 10 every single day! Can you imagine life with no parents, little guidance, no goodnight kisses, uncertainty about when the next meal will be? I can't. So, let's do something. PRAY.
Please join us, and I will post updates as I learn more.
