Geoff's Niger Mission

Well, this house is excited to welcome back Daddy and Husband tomorrow night after a 9 day trip to Niger. Admittedly, I am not that good at parenting alone, and Geoff's involvement with the kids and ability to bring me sanity and joy through this season is sorely missed when he is away. Sorely. Missed.

He's had a phenomenal trip though. This was his first time back to Niger after bringing Leila home 2 years ago. He traveled with a men's construction team, and they set to work on several projects throughout Niamey, including running electrical lines, laying tile and putting on a new roof. They worked at a church that was burned about 2 years ago and a few partner orphanages. Additionally, they spent some time at a men's jail. They also were able to spend a lot of time playing and loving on the kids at several of the orphanages. Let's just say there was a lot of water balloon fighting! I've also heard about donkey races and getting in bed after 1am every night after rooftop worship and conversation. These are some great, live-life-to-the-fullest kind of men.

Here's a few pictures from his trip.
