This is the message we received this morning from Rodrigo regarding the adoption hearing:
Hey,
Talked to the Lawyer last night and he said that yesterday morning the hearing took place for both adoptions. They will give the result for both of them on November the 12th. He said there were a couple of objections by the defendant but that he thinks everything will be ok. I will see if there is a way we can find what the results are before the 12th.

October 22 – Big Day
Yesterday, as I was sharing about our adoption journey and the friends and family we've had come through our home to my MUMS group (mommy group of about 25), Geoff received a phone call from Rodrigo in Niger. We finally have an official court date for our case to be reviewed and decided on in Niger! Please please pray from now until October 22. The judge will be deciding if we can become Leila's legal parents in Niger. Once he makes his decision and it is a yes (because that's what we are believing!), the two month waiting period for anyone to contest the decision will begin. After the waiting period, we are officially her parents in Niger and we can finish the last step on the US side and then bring her home! I'm making it sound simpler than it really is but we are getting closer! Thank you for joining us in prayer over this decision, and over the judge, and over our little girl. Ask and you shall receive!

Flower Girl
Our sweet girl did a beautiful job serving as the flower girl in Matthew and Lea's wedding on October 4th. We were so proud that her sometimes shy self made it down the very long aisle at Grace Covenant Presbyterian and back! Here are a few pictures from the very fun celebration.
Drawing Jesus pictures while I put in sponge rollers (she told me that was Jesus in the picture so we're going with it!).
The beautiful bride, Lea, and Mary-Michael at the rehearsal dinner at Willow Oaks Country Club.
Rehearsal with Colin, the ring bearer (my cousin Blair's son). So cute.
Special time with Daddy.
Love my girl.
Isn't she lovely?!
She wore hair clips made from the mother of the groom's veil and the necklace I wore as a bridesmaid in Ash's wedding this past May.
Caleb, Colin and M&M - cousin love.
With Uncle Zach and Aunt Christina at the reception at Commonwealth Club.
Dancing with the bride!
